  • About Department

    The Department of Mechanical Engineering started in the year 2010 with an intake of 60 students. The discipline constitutes both theoretical and practical approach with perfect management skills.

    The department has well qualified faculties having vast experience in both teaching and industry. The department has library facilities with more number of journals. Many of the staff members have represented conferences seminars & workshops at various colleges. Many of the guest lectures are held in the department to improve the methods in teaching for both students & staff.

  • Infrastructure

    The department is located in an area of 3700 sq.mt. comprising Lecture halls, Departmental Library, Faculty rooms, Seminar hall and Laboratories. The labs are well equipped with A/c facilities, with necessary new era Machineries. Each staff room has separate computer rendering e-learning. The major Laboratories are:

    • Heat & Mass Transfer Lab
    • Machine Shop Lab
    • Energy Conversion Lab
    • Metallography & Material Testing Lab
    • Design Lab
    • CAMA, CIM, CAED, CAMD Software labs.
  • Result Analysis

    The students of the Mechanical Engineering department have secured good results in university examinations.

    • 4 out of 6 Faculty achieved 100% Results in University Exams.
    • Shiva Prasad R (4th Sem Student) Secured 8th Place in University Toppers List.
    • T G Lochan (4th Sem Student) Secured 12th Place in University Toppers List.
  • Achievements
    • Department has consistently secured its position as one among toppers in University Examination.
    • Department of ME is the only department in college which has more Ph.D Candidates.
    • Department has launched a different systematic & scientific technical forum with providing awareness among the students.
    • Mr. Jithendra, ME has won 1st prize(Gold Medal) in the VTU Intercollegiate single-zone Athletics Competitions.
  • Research
    • Dr. G Ravindranath has done research for 4 Years, and Published 5 International and 4 National Conference Journals. He has also guided 9 PG projects and 4 PhD projects.
    • Dr. N.R. Ramesh, HOD did his PhD. from IIT Madras, executed major R & D projects related to aero gas turbines, aero space propulsion, energy conversion. Published 5 international and 15 national papers . He has guided many students for their B.E, M.Tech and PhD projects.
    • Prof H N Jagadeesh has done research for 3 Years, and Published 6 National Conference Journals. He has also guided 4 PG projects.
    • Prof Jayashree P Zope has Published 2 International Conference Journals and published book.
  • Curricular Activities

    In addition to leading students towards academic excellence, we emphasize on their overall development by co curricular activities, like Mechanical Forum YANTHRIX which deals with the basic approach of knowing specifications of the engines of the vintage automobiles. Arrangements are made to Industrial visits, exhibitions (Auto-Expo) etc., The Department has organized events under the coordination of Physical education director such as:

    • Inter Zonal Throw ball competition.

    • Blood Donation Camp

Yantrix (Department Technical Forum)

"YANTRIX - Where Imagination Meets Reality" formed in 2012 April under the Mechanical Department young, dynamic & energitic students. Providing hands on work facilities like, working on basics of Automobile parts, engins its maintence with techanical aspects. Aim of Yantrix is to provide facilities of of techanical library. Providing hands on experience on the various fields of mechanical engineering. Yantrix forum providing platform to display their technical skills(Paper presentation, seminar).
